Exhibit Fabrication + Installation

San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers

After the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers was damaged by a severe windstorm, we worked in conjunction with the client and design firm, The Portico Group, to fabricate and install exhibits for the grand reopening. Our scope included interpretive display cases, way-finding signage, plant species identification signs, illustrations, and two traveling exhibitions. The Conservatory and designer provided rough sketches for a series of murals and sculpted three-dimensional objects. We worked closely with the team to maintain the original design intent while specifying materials that could withstand constant handling. We conducted research on plants and animals, submitted renderings for approval, fabricated the final pieces and installed them with special care inside the newly restored historic structure. One of the more challenging elements was the engineering and installation of large glass panels, the heaviest of which weighed approximately 325 pounds. The results are breathtaking.
