New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

The Startup! exhibit at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science chronicles the origins of the computer revolution. Housing Microsoft cofounder and philanthropist Paul Allen’s personal collection of computer artifacts and memorabilia, the exhibit tells the story of the personal computer from its earliest days, with emphasis on the founding of MITS and Microsoft in Albuquerque in the 1970s. Startup! is comprised of six galleries, each covering roughly a decade from the ‘50s to the “future.” The galleries also explore the use of alternative energy in relation to computer technology.
